In Shadows Of Doubt
In shadows deep, I often tread,
A whispering doubt that fills my head.
The mirror shows a face so plain,
A heart that aches, a soul in pain.
I watch the smiles, the laughter bright,
Yet in my chest, a heavy night.
I reach for love, but feel the weight,
Of all the ways I seem to rate.
Each promise made, a fragile thread,
I fear I’ll break what’s left unsaid.
I long to shine, to rise above,
But feel unworthy of such love.
And when I stumble, when I fall,
I hear the echoes, “You’re not enough at all.”
But still I try, though doubts surround,
To find a way to stand my ground.
So here I stand, with open heart,
Hoping someday, I’ll play my part.
For love is vast, and I must see,
That maybe, just maybe, I can be free.
