Tortured Steel: The Rhyme for 9/11
World Trade
Silver Lining
Overnight,
After the towers fell
Our nation was united.
Fifty stars aligned as one,
Young and old,
Rich and poor,
Red and blue,
All one color.
Then we went to war
And the truth died,
Always the first casualty.
Today,
The silver lining shines,
We the people,
Under fire,
Proved capable
Of unification
Overnight.
If our common enemy
Were hatred
Our mission in common
Would be love.
War would be no more
And truth
Would never die.
