Weeping Willow
When no-one else would,
the weeping willow took me in.
She called to me in a gentle whisper,
opened her arms without judgment,
providing shelter from the storms
that brewed within.
My safe harbor.
My secret place.
My escape from harm.
Merciful breeze caressing my face,
with promises of protection.
Warmth so enveloping,
it always felt like home.
A home that did no damage.
Where secrets were acknowledged,
but never glorified.
Restoring faith that seemed lost.
Hope resurrected,
strength replaced where weakness had infiltrated.
An external abode that applauded self expression.
Where inspiration was drawn and dreams encouraged.
The one place that led me far away, yet made me feel so close to God.
Insecurities demolished within.
When no-one else would,
the weeping willow took me in.
Never judging my life's misgivings.
She lifted me higher to rise above it all,
making me whole again.
The weeping willow saved me from the madness I was submerged in.
