Music Is
Music is the embodiment of the living soul
It gives joy, it gives passion
It feeds us and leads us to believe, without deception
I see tall brownstone buildings, with moss and ivy growth
Busy streets, people walking to and fro
Museums, libraries, and Central Park in May
Someday would come and I would leave
I never thought I’d stay
I love this song, the melody I hear
And you were always with me
I’ll always hold you near
City lights flicker, the laughter of the children snicker in the streets
I miss the games we played, a hop, skip and jump
The dances we went to, the hustle and the bump
The man on the corner, with fire in the can
A hungry babes cry, my sister, no longer willing to try
I’ll see again, I love you so much
Your hand in mine, I feel your touch
With paper and pen, my thoughts all run wild
I remember when we were children, my best friend and I
We took off together to play the music then
Oh yeah, I remember when
